The following brief video shows a stop on the McCain campaign today, in which some conservative bigot tells him that she doesn’t trust Obama because ‘he’s an Arab.’
It would have been nice if McCain had been a little more strident in denouncing bigotry and lies. But it’s not bad. If only he’d conduct his campaign like that.
Decency? Obama’s group attack Palin because of her baby Trigg, called her a Nazi sympathizer, leaked personal information to their radical supports, one of which hacked her personal account, etc Decency? You sure do have double standards don’t you? McCain has more decency and deserves more respect than anyone Obama knows, including himself. The man served his country, he didn’t befriend those like Ayers and Khalidi who wished it to be destroyed.
Put down the “Kool-Aid”, you have had enough…
If you’re going to take Obama to task for the actions of people over whom he has no control and who are neither employed by or connected to his campaign, and whose actions he’s specifically disavowed and/or condemned, then in all fairness you should hold the words and actions of similar folks on the other side against McCain. You know, the Michael Savages, Michelle Malkins and Rush Limbaughs. And condemn the associates of McCain to the same degree you condemn the acquaintances of Obama – the people whose views he has not disavowed, like radical clerics John Hagee and James Dobson.
It ain’t me drinkin’ the Kool-Aid, chief. Facts are facts – the Ayres connection has been debunked everywhere except amongst the far right pundit class and McCain’s campaign ads. And Khalidi, while I don’t agree with some of the stuff he’s said, is less controversial than the far right propaganda industry makes him out to be. The links to the right side of this page might be helpful to you.
The fact is that McCain has run and is running a despicable campaign. If you want to make the claim that it’s not him doing the day-to-day management of his own campaign and making those decisions… well, that’s rather a different subject, and would actually make for a good point of discussion.
But thanks for commenting.
